Facilities - Living in the Home

The Holt exudes great character and refinement standing in beautiful landscaped gardens. The aim of our home is to provide a family type environment for our residents, That is, we hope to provide the right level of care, companionship, relaxation and comfort for our residents who become part of our extended family.

Wheelchair users have level access to all rooms and the garden. Residents on the first floor have access to their rooms by the stairs or lift. All our rooms are single and the majority are en suite. The rooms are decorated and furnished to a high standard, but we do encourage residents to make their room theirs with their own furniture and pictures.

We offer our residents a choice of menus and we cater for special diets. Menus are presented each day so our residents have an informed choice of dishes. Meals are enjoyed in the dining room, the conservatory with a chosen companion or in the privacy of their own rooms. Lunch is the main meal of the day, supported by a substantial breakfast, and tea in the afternoon. Tea and coffee, with biscuits or cake, is offered throughout the day.

The menus are varied and cater for all tastes. Quality meat, fish, vegetables and fruit are all sourced and delivered by local providers. Our home cook has been with us many years and takes great pride in her cooking and baking which all the residents enjoy.

Residents are welcome to invite their families and friends for a meal and we enjoy making that a special moment for them.
